While working as a full-time freelancer from August 2013 until February 2017, I regularly did work for Creative MMS—a web design and marketing agency based in Philadelphia, PA. Over those couple years I worked on many different websites, custom WordPress themes, and features. Much of the work was tied in with WordPress or PHP-based websites. Here is a sampling of the projects that I worked on.
Better Website Report is a dedicated service I am offering. It is for people who want honest feedback and suggestions for their website, from web development professionals. Whether looking to make a list of needed improvements, shopping for a redesign, or trying to find any problems that have been missed, we write up a personalized report outlining what needs work. The report is a general look at many categories, including design, functionality, messaging, SEO, and technical issues.
The NYC-based Putnam & Putnam designs striking floral arrangements and installations that are beyond compare. They’ve done work for high profile clients such as Vogue, Dior, Samsung, and The Smithsonian. For this project I worked with Hurst Creative, to make their image-focused design a reality, with a functioning e-commerce side.
YourFitWorld is a blog that advocates a healthy lifestyle. Karianne shares nutritious recipes and tips on anything related to staying fit. Her site was already in WordPress, but it was not taking advantage of her high-res photography, and needed more consistent branding. It is a fully responsive WordPress theme, meaning that it adapts to various screen sizes; tablets, phones, etc.
This mobile app was created with PhoneGap and jQuery Mobile, and is currently available for Android and iOS. It is the result of a collaboration with my friends at Ixie Studios. In the RPG tabletop gaming niche, we saw an opportunity to create a tool that would be helpful in the process of creating unique characters.
In 2012, I built the original Shopify theme for the London-based men’s leather goods company, Troubadour. They create some outstanding luxury bags that are classy, minimal, and made with the highest quality materials. The new design is complete upgrade and a new build (new code), while it maintains similar aesthetics and typography that are part of the brand. The home page and product page in particular received a new look.
HotSauceFever is a personal project to create a definitive reference list of hot sauces, that anyone can rate and review. The idea was born when I started looking for a site like this, expecting that it already existed, as it does for beer and wine. When I didn’t find anything, I decided to make it happen, with the help of designer Danny Day. I ended up choosing the Yii PHP Framework, seeing that it was gaining a lot of traction lately, and was a useful learning tool for a proper MVC structure. The is a fully responsive fluid-width site…
Troubadour is a men’s luxury leather goods company based out of London. They are dedicated to an incredible level of quality, and advocate the stories and talent of the craftsmen/women that have made their products what they are. I was tasked with creating a custom Shopify theme that is consistent with their brand and its attention to detail.
Talent Point Consulting is a recruiting / talent acquisition firm based out of Philadelpha, PA, run by Meredith Toole. This is a brand new site for her business, with a clean and professional look. It was designed by my friend Alex DiSebastian, and developed as a WordPress theme that is completely editable through theme options, WordPress menus, and plugins.
Nick is a bluegrass guitar player based out of Boston, who has ditched his MySpace page in favor of a custom WordPress site. This custom theme was developed for modern browsers and gives him full ability to update all his menus, content, and sidebars.
